General Harvest Things to Know

  1. Harvest does not prevent exceeding project hours or budgets!
  2. Harvest alerts should be monitored by team members as well as the Project Manager to ensure budgets are not exceeded.

Reviewing Existing Projects Weekly

Project manager or Head of Software Engineering follow these instructions weekly

Setting Up New Projects - Project Manager is Responsible (Admin Sets up Client when new New Project Form is completed)

Client must be set up before a New Project can be associated with them

-> New Project

  1. Name the Project to match the Description used in Quote and Pursuits process
  2. Enter a Start Date
  3. Choose Project Type (Most of our projects are time and materials)
  4. Notes are used as a revision history whenever a change is made - hours added, re-allocated etc - make an entry any time you touch a project
  5. Assign Team members to the project
  6. Allocate the hours to the team members
  7. Update tasks as necessary to reflect roles on the project - see existing projects for examples
  8. Choose Person Billable Rate and Hours/Person

Staff Augmentation Projects - Developers will NOT get Budget Notifications

  1. Select “Show project report to Administrators and people who manage this project” button
  2. Check the email alerts box and set alert to 50%

Project Outsourcing Projects - Developers will get Budget Notifications

  1. Select “Show project report to everyone on this project”
  2. Check the email alerts box and set alert to 50%

Projects are archived as described in the Reviewing Existing Projects Weekly process
